  I went through a lot of the replies, the one thing no one thought of is the &lt;br&gt; EMF pulse through the transformer when its powered up and down quickly, it&#39;s &lt;br&gt; sorta like a old style igition coil, there is a pulse of voltage then the &lt;br&gt; magneitic field colapases, and having full line voltage at a doorbell button

  I was in one of the HVAC supply houses a few days ago &lt;br&gt; when something caught my eye. I picked up a bottle of &lt;br&gt; copper glue. The instructions on the bottle indicated &lt;br&gt; that it is used in much the same way you would use PVC &lt;br&gt; cement but it&#39;s for copper. I thought it might be an &lt;br&gt; April Fools joke but it was for real. I haven&#39;t tried

This was well over two years ago and have had no &lt;br&gt; problems. The wattage, of course, was well under the total wattage rated &lt;br&gt; for the fixtures.

  The CFL&#39;s will be fine so long as the fitting is adequately &lt;br&gt; ventilated. &lt;br&gt; The electronics in the base of a CFL doesn&#39;t like heat and can cook up &lt;br&gt; quite easily if the heat can&#39;t get away as in an unventilated fitting. &lt;br&gt; However, I have had no trouble in any of the light fittings I have put &lt;br&gt; CFL&#39;s into. Most were quite adequately ventilated anyway.
