  When I was a teen driver back in the 1950s, I had cars that would not &lt;br&gt; stop , shift into neutral, or depress the clutch (these were all &lt;br&gt; standard shift cars). &lt;br&gt; There were no recalls, either from the car manufacturer, or the company &lt;br&gt; that made the beer cans that rolled under the pedals.

  Disregarding the thickness/stiffness/flex... &lt;br&gt; Time was when tile was often (generally?) stuck to plywood with mastic; my &lt;br&gt; kitchen counter tiles were, 14 years ago. I&#39;ve also seen mastic used to &lt;br&gt; stick them to concrete. &lt;br&gt; You could also use thickened epoxy (messy &amp;amp; expensive) or plain old acrylic &lt;br&gt; caulk.

  Yes, I think we all would like to see a link to any credible source. &lt;br&gt; All I&#39;ve seen is: &lt;br&gt; A - speculation from various individuals that it might be possible &lt;br&gt; that some of the Toyotas can&#39;t be shifted into neutral under runaway &lt;br&gt; conditions &lt;br&gt; B - some of the people driving the runaway cars have claimed they &lt;br&gt; could not shift them into neutral
